Materials
Broken Crayons
Heavy Paper Cups
Assorted Candy Molds
To Do:
-
Remove all paper
from crayons and sort by color in heavy
paper cups.

Place one cup
of crayons into a microwave oven.
-
Cook on high for
4-6 minutes or until the crayons are
completely melted.
-
Carefully pour
the melted crayon wax into candy molds.
-
Place the candy
molds in the freezer for 20 minutes until
the wax is hard.
-
Pop Cool Crayons
out of the candy molds and color!
Tips and Ideas
Try melting 2-3 different colors of crayons
together to create marbleized crayons.
Bubble Painting
Materials:
Instructions:
-
Place some
bubble solution in each of the containers.
-
Put a few drops
of food coloring in each container. Make
sure you have separate containers for each
color.

Take your white
paper outside and hang it from a fence or
clothesline, or put it on the ground or a
table.
-
Dip the bubble
wand in the color of choice.
-
Blow bubbles
onto the paper. When the bubbles break a
beautiful print will be left.
Salt Dough
Ornaments
Project should be done with an adult!
Materials:
Waxed paper - Rolling pin - Large bowl -
Measuring cups - Cookie cutters
Cookie sheets - Oven
- Drinking straw
Ingredients

2 C. flour
-
1 C. salt
-
1 C. water
-
In a large bowl, mix together the flour,
salt, and water.

Knead together ingredients until it feels
like dough. Add a tad more water if mixture
is dry. Dry dough will make crumble.

Roll dough out using rolling pin.
-
Use cookie cutters to press out your
favorite shapes.
-
Place shapes on a cookie sheet.
-
Use drinking straw to punch a hole in the
top of the ornament. Use this hole to hang
the ornament.

Heat oven to 300.
-
Bake for 1 hour or until ornaments are dry
on front and back.

Let ornaments cool.
-
Decorate with poster or acrylic paints or
glue decorations onto them.
-
Let ornament dry. When dry, protect with a
clear coat of acrylic paint.
-
Put string or thin ribbon through the hole
for hanging.
Suggestion:
Instead of punching
a hole with the straw, buy magnets for the back
and use at a fridge decoration. |
